Bhadrak: A man was arrested from a hotel near Nalanga Chhak in Odisha’s Bhadrak district was arrested on Friday for allegedly impersonating Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
The accused, identified as Rahul Singh Ranawat from Dhanbad in Jharkhand, was staying at a hotel in Bhadrak for several days. ADVERTISEMENT
Sources said police and army uniforms, a firearm, and a fake police badge were seized from his possession during search. It was also found that the vehicle used by him had a police logo and a beacon light installed.
Police conducted a raid and caught the accused after being informed by local residents about his suspicious behaviour and activities. Police launched an investigation and apprehended the accused. Further investigation is in progress.
