SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Hurricane Humberto is still projected to become a major hurricane by Monday between the Bahamas and Bermuda as it tracks northwest. Then, head back out to the northern Atlantic during the middle of next week.
Invest 94-L is over Haiti, causing showers and breezy conditions for the area. This system will likely become a tropical depression over the week near the Bahamas.
Additional strengthening is expected over the weekend into next week as this system tracks northwest over the Bahamas. Once this becomes a tropical storm, it will take on the name, “Imelda”.
Impacts are possible for the east coast early next week, but confidence is low on track and intensity. Right now, it still looks to head toward the Carolinas. Stay tuned for updates.
