A call for project nominations will go forward for electric vehicle charging infrastructure in the Fairbanks and North Pole area following a decision by the Fairbanks Area Surface Transportation (FAST) Planning Policy Board on Wednesday.
FAST Planning has about $2.4 million in federal money it can allocate to applicants to construct and operate electric vehicle funding.
The projects would be separate from the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program that the Alaska Department of Transportation and Alaska Energy Authority are using to build out an electric charging station up the Parks Highway between Anchorage and Fairbanks.
