The University of Arizona will be shuttering all of its “microcampuses” in China at the end of the fall semester.
The university runs four campuses in the country, with dual degree relationships between universities in Beijing, Qingdao, Tianjin and Xi’an. More than 2,200 students attend the campuses, said UA spokesperson Mitch Zak.
“Acknowledging a congressional directive, the University of Arizona immediately terminated its China-based microcampus agreements," Zak said in a statement. "We have communicated directly with those affected and are working with enrolled students to help them continue their education.”
