Lexington neighborhood evacuated for second time in less than 24 hours for gas leak

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — For the second time in less than 24 hours, there is a gas leak in the Indian Hills neighborhood of Lexington, Missouri.

Evacuations were underway as of 9:50 a.m. Those within 330 feet of 51 Lakeview Drive are being evacuated, the city said.

The leak is located at 51 Lakeview Drive. Emergency personnel are on the scene, according to the city.

Residents are asked to avoid the area.

On Thursday afternoon, a gas leak prompted evacuations in the same neighborhood.
