Two South Carolina Starbucks locations are on the chopping block so far as part of a larger restructuring by the national coffee chain.

After six consecutive quarters of declining U.S. sales, Seattle-based Starbucks announced Sept. 25 it will shutter hundreds of “underperforming stores,” according to the Associated Press . More than 900 employees are expected to be laid off.

Starbucks locations in Hilton Head (11 Palmetto Bay Road) and Greenville (320 Falls St.) confirmed they have been told to close.

Signs from Starbucks corporate were posted at the cafes saying that the company has made the “incredibly difficult decision to close this location.” Store employees were given a week’s notice.
