ELKHORN, Wis. — An Elkhorn man, who prosecutors found him guilty in June, was sentenced to life in prison without parole, online court records show.

Thomas Allen Routt Jr. 58, was sentenced Friday morning at the Walworth County Judicial Center, where he learned he will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

He was convicted of two counts of first-degree intentional homicide, one count of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, one count of armed robbery, one count of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, and one count of possession of methamphetamine on June 27.

Routt shot and killed both 37-year-old Gina Weingart and 33-year-old Emerson Weingart at the Sports Page Bar in downtown Elkhorn on Feb. 1, 2024; the couple were newlyweds.
