“He grew up very poor on a family farm in the village of Kokkinades, about two hours outside Athens,” grandson James Mirothanasis told the Sun . “They sold oranges and olives. He had three brothers and a sister and they often had to share one pair of shoes.”

But while the Leafs stopped winning Stanley Cups in ‘67 after four in six years, the husband-and-wife success story was just beginning. From humble beginnings at a downtown restaurant, Dimitrios’ Jimmy the Greek fast-food chain now stretches cross-country to the Prairies.
