A state trooper was removed from his assignment as a school resource officer at Vinal Technical High School in Middletown and he’s on paid administrative duty amid an internal investigation into possible inappropriate conduct, according to state police.

They said they were made aware on Jan. 15 of possible inappropriate conduct between Trooper First Class Timothy Haroian and a minor and the state trooper was immediately removed from his school resource officer assignment at Vinal Technical High School, ending any contact between him, the victim and the students at the technical high school.

Haroian was also placed on administrative duty and police launched an internal affairs investigation.
