Bristol Police Lieutenant Dustin Demonte and Sergeant Alex Hamzy were killed in the line of duty during an ambush on Oct. 12, 2022.

For the first time, we're hearing from the Hamzy family. We sat down with Hamzy's sister who is proud of the man he once was and the legacy he holds years later.

Donna Hamzy Carroccia remembers her younger brother as a son, a husband and a friend to many.

"Alex was just a solid human being. I mean, I don't think I know anyone, or have known anyone more solid than he just from the inside out, like he was never, ever, like selfish, like always wanting to do for others," Hamzy Carroccia said.
