MOSCOW, Idaho — A man sustained "significant injuries" in a reported assault on the University of Idaho's campus Wednesday night.

According to the Moscow Police Department, officers responded to reports of a battery at Idaho Avenue and Deakin Avenue on the U of I campus at around 8:53 p.m. Wednesday.

Arriving officers found a man who sustained "significant injuries."

The family of the man who was assaulted says they plan to hold a gathering to pray for him and his family at 6 p.m. outside St. Joseph Medical Center in Lewiston.

Moscow Police said Wednesday night's altercation was between two men, further clarifying that the man was not "curb stomped" despite several reports saying otherwise.
