ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - People from across the Central Louisiana region gathered in the heart of the City of Alexandria for a candlelight vigil to honor the victims of homicides, murders and cold cases.
In recognition of the ”National Day of Remembrance for Homicide Victims" , local residents organized an annual vigil, typically held outside of the Rapides Parish Courthouse , outside of Alexandria City Hall at the Alexander Fulton Mini-Park.
Spearheaded by Stephanie Belgard, a member of the non-profit group “Parents of Murdered Children”, the vigil heard personal testimonies from attendees on their recollections and experiences surrounding their loved ones.
“Sometimes you have families that definitely don’t want their loved ones’ names to be forgotten. It’s a way to get together w
