BATTLE CREEK - It was the second week of the football season last year.
Battle Creek Central's Jordan Roe knew two things. He knew his back hurt. He knew he couldn't play football. What he didn't know was, why did his back hurt? Why couldn't he play football?

But now, a year after suffering a 'broken back', Roe has been back in uniform this season as one of the best players on the football field.
"It's amazing. It's a God thing," Roe said. "It is super surprising to me that I have made it back so far, so fast. It's just amazing."
