GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Gwinnett County Police said that a daughter was arrested after her mother was found dead Thursday night.

Officers responded to the scene near the 3000 block of Deshong Drive outside of Stone Mountain.

Police said around 4:30 p.m., someone showed up at the home and found the woman inside. They called 911 to report a medical emergency. When officers arrived, they quickly determined this was a crime; it appeared that she had been stabbed. Credit: WXIA

The victim was identified as 62-year-old Janet Morris. An autopsy will confirm the cause and manner of death.

A female family member of the victim was located in another area of the county and was questioned in connection to a homicide.
