EDMOND, Okla. (KFOR) — The Edmond Urban Forestry Department will be giving out 275 free trees on October 4 at the Edmond Farmers Market.

The department will be giving out 275 3-gallon trees to Edmond residents; however, they must show their Edmond utility bill to pick up a tree, which will be on a first-come, first-served basis, and only one tree will be given per household.

Those who are planning to pick up a free tree are asked to make sure that they have enough space at home for a mature tree.

"Conflicts with overhead and underground utilities can cause major issues in the future, and not every site is suitable for every type of tree," said the City of Edmond in a press release.

The available species of trees include: • Northern Red Oak • Lacey Oak • Black Gum • Desert Willo
