A massive plume of smoke was visible from The Dan Ryan Expressway as it billowed from a fire on Chicago's South Side, with a heavy emergency response to the area.

The fire was burning as of 2:20 p.m. Friday near West 49th Street and South Princeton Avenue in the city's Fuller Park neighborhood, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

Footage from NBC Chicago's Sky 5 showed a heavily burnt building, with crews on ladders fighting the fire.

CFD posted on social media about the fire shortly after it began.
