Top-ranked T20I batter Abhishek Sharma started the innings for India on Friday (September 26) against Sri Lanka in Dubai and played a quick knock of 61 runs from just 31 balls. The left-hander from Amritsar hit eight boundaries and two sixes during his time at the crease. He reached his half-century in only 22 balls, bringing up the milestone with a four off Nuwan Thushara on the fourth delivery of the sixth over.

Abhishek has become the third Indian player, after Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma, to score 50 or more runs in under 25 balls on six occasions in T20Is.
