KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Johnson County, Kansas announced Friday that it will receive a $21 million grant to renovate its airport.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) infrastructure grant will support the full reconstruction of Runway 18-36 at New Century AirCenter, the county said.
Johnson County said it will use the grant to reconstruct the runway and its lighting, as well as for new airfield signage and other markings.
The project, funded by the FAA's Airport Improvement Program, will modernize New Century AirCenter to current FAA safety and engineering standards, the county said.
