A TAMWORTH man remains behind bars but is set to fight a series of charges of break-ins and attempts on homes in Sydney.
Andrew Pegus, 20, was arrested in a West Tamworth street during a coordinated operation involving officers from Sydney, out to Moree and in Tamworth.
He appeared in Tamworth Local Court by video link on September 22, charged with two counts of being carried in a conveyance taken without consent of owner; three counts of aggravated break-and-enter dwelling in company, and aggravated enter dwelling in company with intent to steal.
Pegus' Aboriginal Legal Service (ALS) solicitor Louis Gasparinatos entered pleas of not guilty to the six charges on behalf of his client.
Police allege Pegus was behind a series of break-ins and attempts on homes in the Sydney area in late-J
