LAFOURCHE PARISH, La. — Louisiana State Police have released body and dash camera footage of a shooting earlier this month that left a suspect dead in Lafourche Parish.

The agency posted the full "critical incident briefing" video, which includes both body and dash cam footage, WWL edited portions of the footage for length and clarity, and removed a graphic excerpt showing officers recovering a gun from the suspect. Authorities said the suspect had brandished the weapon before the trooper opened fire.

The footage shows a trooper arriving at a service station near Bull Run Road around 4 p.m. on Sept. 8, pulling up near a truck. Troopers say the driver, Jonah Parfait, 46, and his passenger, Darien Riffe, 31, both of Houma, were suspects in an ongoing illegal narcotics investigation.
