LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A person was detained after social media threats prompted a Las Vegas middle school to go on lockdown.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to Roy Martin Middle School in the 200 block of North 28th Street after reports of an armed person at the school.
Police said one person was detained. Sources told 8 News Now that the person detained was a juvenile. No injuries were reported, and there is no longer any threat to the school, police said.
The middle school was put on lockdown after a "social media threat" to the school, according to a message sent to families from the school. Clark County School District police responded to investigate the threat.
