An officer with the Bellevue Marshal’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a driver at 9:25 a.m. this morning at the corner of Main and Cedar streets.
“While the officer was approaching the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle produced a firearm, causing a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” Bellevue Marshal Kirtus Gaston stated in a news release Friday afternoon. “The driver of the vehicle was transported by ambulance to the St. Luke's Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.”
The press release stated that “additional back up and medical were dispatched to the scene.”
