LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — A man has been arrested for a dog found dead inside a kennel near an east Las Vegas dumpster in July, police say.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department says 33-year-old Darrion Lamar has been booked into the Clark County Detention Center for an animal abuse charge. The dog was found on July 11. Police believed the dog may have already died before it was dropped off.

In July, FOX5 obtained surveillance footage that showed two people appearing to push a kennel the night before it was found near 27th and Valley Street, then walking northbound on 27th before turning eastbound on Sunrise Avenue.
