Syracuse, N.Y. — A section of Irving Avenue in Syracuse will be closed this week for construction related to the Interstate 81 viaduct project.

The road will be shut down between Harrison and East Adams streets from 9 a.m. Monday through 5 p.m. Friday so crews can complete utility work, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Southbound drivers will be detoured west on Harrison Street, south on Sarah Loguen Street, east on Adams Street and back to Irving Avenue. Northbound drivers will be detoured east on East Adams Street, north on South Crouse Avenue, west on Harrison Street and back to Irving Avenue.
