NEW ORLEANS — was found guilty Friday on all charges stemming from a 2023 crash, including malfeasance in office, injuring public records, impersonating a peace officer and insurance fraud.
The verdict came back within less than an hour. It took the jury about 30 minutes to decide that Morris was guilty as charged.
He took the stand Friday to recount the day of the crash, what happened in the aftermath, and his time as Executive Director of OPCD.
During his testimony, Morris said he was home preparing for a work for a work trip before the crash and disputed video the prosecution entered into evidence showing he was at a bar celebrating his birthday. Morris said he the video was taken days before.
