TENNESSEE - Sara Jane Moore, who spent more than 30 years in prison for attempting to assassinate President Gerald Ford, has passed away.
Moore died on Wednesday at a nursing home in Tennessee. The news was confirmed by a longtime acquaintance who was informed by the executor of Moore's estate.
Moore, once a suburban mom, became a leftist advocate and was recruited by the FBI as an informant at one point in her life.
In California, Moore was sentenced to life in prison for the assassination attempt but was unexpectedly paroled in 2007.
Moore was 95 years old.
