LEXINGTON, Ky. —

Laken Snelling, a former University of Kentucky student, returned to a Fayette County courtroom Friday morning.

Snelling is charged in the death of her baby boy, whose body was found in a garbage bag in her closet last month. Advertisement

In Lexington District Court, Snelling, who is accused of multiple crimes including concealing the birth of an infant and abuse of a corpse, waived her right to a preliminary hearing, opting to have her case go directly to a grand jury.

Late last month, Snelling was arrested on these charges and released on a $100,000 bond. She is currently living with her parents in Tennessee and is being monitored through an ankle bracelet.
