TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - A homeless man and a homeless woman were arrested after allegedly assaulting each other near the Loop in Pima County on Friday, Sept. 26.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said the suspects got into an argument in a wash near South Julian Drive and Palo Verde around 1 p.m.

The PCSD said the call came in as a possible stabbing, but said no stabbing happened.

Both suspects sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and were arrested on assault charges.

Friday’s incident comes just days after a bicyclist died after a confrontation on The Loop near First and Wetmore in Tucson late Tuesday, Sept. 23.

The Tucson Police Department said Enrique Mercado was injured in an attack and died at a local hospital.
