New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha today to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for a series of development projects worth over Rs 60,000 crore. The initiatives span from sectors ranging from telecom to healthcare.
One of the major highlights of the visit will be the commissioning of more than 97,500 mobile 4G towers built at a cost of around Rs 37,000 crore using Swadeshi technology. This includes over 92,600 sites commissioned by BSNL, along with 18,900 additional sites funded under the Digital Bharat Nidhi. The towers will bring connectivity to 26,700 unconnected villages, including those in remote, border and left-wing extremism affected regions and will benefit nearly 20 lakh new subscribers.
