The national body of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has written to Dr Santanu Sen, former Trinamul Congress MP, seeking his clarifications on opening of a bank account ‘JIMACON-Kolkata’ allegedly using the PAN of the IMA headquarters (HQ) in the Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) and withdrawal of Rs 1,31,99,051.

JIMACON stands for Journal of Indian Medical Association Conference.

The IMA HQ was prompted to sought clarifications on opening of savings account and financial transactions from Dr Sen, former national president of the doctors’ body, on 17 September after Dr Jyotirmoy Pal, honorary joint finance secretary of the association’s Kolkata branch office informed the matter to the Delhi office.
