BERKELEY, Mo. - Contract negotiations between Boeing and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM 837) are set to resume Monday with the assistance of a federal mediator.

The machinists, who have been on strike since Aug. 4, are demanding better pay and improved work-life balance.

"The bargaining committees for Boeing and IAM 837 have agreed to return to negotiations on Monday with the help of a federal mediator in an effort to find a path to end the strike," said a statement from the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.

IAM 837 represents over 3,000 workers in the St. Louis area, and the union has already rejected at least two contract offers from Boeing.
