PINE BLUFF, Ark. — Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies and first responders secured a crash site Thursday after a small plane went down near the 2100 block of Blankenship Road.

The Sheriff's Office reported receiving the call at approximately 1:28 p.m. Deputies arrived quickly to secure the immediate area and assist emergency crews.

The pilot, who was the lone occupant of the aircraft, was attended to by deputies working alongside personnel from the Southeast Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Ambulance Service Inc. (EASI). Authorities provided immediate assistance and worked to preserve the scene for federal investigators.
