NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – On Thursday, Starbucks announced it was laying off 900 employees and closing selected stores including four in Arkansas as part of a turnaround plan.
A cup of coffee and convenience was satisfying for people like Donald Streit and Kaleigh Roberts who live in North Little Rock.
"It's not as expensive, it's walking distance from here," Streit said.
Roberts also lives within walking distance of the Starbucks and says it's always been one of her favorites.
"Sometimes you're just in the mood for the good old-fashioned original latte," Roberts said.
The Starbucks on JFK and McCain was a daily stop for many who live in nearby neighborhoods, but as of Saturday, that's going to change.
