ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - With just a few months before winter, the City of St. Louis is looking to make housing available for people displaced by May’s devastating tornado. The city is using $2.5 million in Rams Settlement funds to help those in need of a safe place to live by renovating vacant rental properties throughout the city. The City of St. Louis Community Development Administration is distributing the funds .

In the Greater Ville neighborhood, Tony Davis’s home has work to be done.

“It’s a slow process, but it’s going. Bit by bit, just trying to recover,” said Davis.

He said FEMA provided some help, but there’s a long way to go. He’s dealing with a damaged roof and exterior walls. He said the Land Reutilization Authority-owned house next door isn’t helping.
