NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. (KTIV) - A Major League Baseball team has stepped up to the plate help North Sioux City, South Dakota, recover from last summer’s devastating floods.

The Minnesota Twins Community Fund has awarded the North Sioux City Dakota Valley Rec Complex a $10,000 grant.

The North Sioux City Rec Board says the money will help complete much-needed repairs and improvements to the complex, which was damaged by floodwaters from the Big Sioux River last June.

The president of the Rec Board, Rich Sindt, said in part “Their commitment to enhancing local sports facilities will have a lasting impact on the athletes and families who use these fields, and we are thrilled to continue working together to create a better, safer, and more enjoyable environment for the community.”
