Homecoming at North Marion was quiet as South Sumter scored on its first drive. As the Red Raiders chopped through the field at the rate of three yards and a cloud of dust they captured their first district win 24-19 over the Colts.

The first half was all Red Raiders and yellow flags. By halftime the Colts were staring down a 17-0 lead.

“It’s a great team win,” South Sumter head coach Ty Lawrence said “That's a good football team, and they got really good football players, great defensive line. Great quarterback with some receivers to catch the ball. I thought our kids played well, played tough.”
