A Philadelphia man found guilty of ordering hits on several New Jersey prosecutors and judges has been sentenced to 95 years in prison.
Steven Smink, 62, received the sentence Friday after a jury found him guilty of numerous crimes last month, the state Attorney General’s office said in a statement. The verdict, delivered on August 15, found him guilty of five counts of attempted murder and one count each of conspiracy to commit murder, transporting weapons and conspiracy to transport weapons.
The state presented evidence at trial that from 2018 to 2020, Smink ordered hits on Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae, First Assistant Prosecutor Harold Shapiro, two Superior Court judges and an assistant prosecutor who were involved in his arson conviction in 2014.
