Guilford upended Harlem and Hononegah knocked off Freeport as things tightened up all around the NIC-10 football landscape with some Week 5 fun on Friday, Sept. 26.

Because of those results, Belvidere North ― which rolled over Jefferson 36-12 on Thursday night ― is all alone atop the conference standings as the only unbeaten team left. Harlem had outscored its first four foes 127-19 headed into Friday night's loss, but that streak is over.

"We're kind of showing that anybody can beat anybody in this NIC-10," Guilford head coach Anthony Capriotti said. Guilford beat Hononegah 17-10 in Week 4. "These are two very big wins for us.
