AVON — It was a back-and-forth first half Friday when Attica visited Avon for the River Hawks' home opener. But the second half saw Avon separate and run away with a 49-21 win.

"It was nice to be home, we haven't been here in three weeks," Avon head coach Andy Englert said. "I thought Attica played really tough tonight. I was proud of the way the kids played and kept things calm. That we didn't get flustered and came out on top is a huge thing."
