CHICOPEE - Lifted by a late fourth quarter interception by Anthony Lombardi, the Chicopee High Pacers secured a hard-fought 12-7 victory over the Palmer Panthers (1-2), to improve to 2-1 on the season in front of a sold-out Szot Park on Friday Night.
As always, it came down to the fourth. Palmer was driving and Quarterback Matthew Santos looked to throw as opportunity presented itself with an open screen over the middle of the field coming into focus until Lombardi stepped up to make the play, icing the victory, at 1:09 left in regulation, something he reflected on during postgame.
