GRESHAM, Ore. (KPTV) – A Gresham high school football player is still recovering from a severe injury, but his classmates took a moment to celebrate him at Friday’s big game.

As Gresham High School battled Hood River on the field, the community was bonded together to fight another battle, supporting football player Tucker Santillanes.

“It is a source of strength that I can’t describe,” said Tom Santillanes.

Tucker’s dad, Tom, said Tucker is still in the ICU after his severe neck injury suffered during a game versus David Douglas last week, but said the support has made this tough time a little easier.
