ORCHARD PARK - During the offseason, Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane made a major investment in the future of the roster by extending the contracts of five of his most successful draft picks, all of whom would have been eligible for free agency going into the 2026 season.
Four of those players were working on their original rookie deals as part of the 2022 class - Khalil Shakir , Christian Benford , Terrel Bernard and James Cook - and one was 2021 first-round pick Greg Rousseau who was playing this season on the fifth-year option which the Bills triggered in the spring of 2024.
