Tesco, Aldi, Asda, Sainsbury's and Morrisons shoppers have said they are "stopping" using parent and child bays in supermarket car parks. The comments come as more and more people flout the recommended age limit.

Taking to Reddit, one punter said: "We stopped using them when our children no longer had to be fastened into their car seats by an adult. The entire point to us was the ability to open the door wide enough that we could lean in and fasten them."

A second said: "This would be my logic also. Although next time my pqrent visit, maybe I'll push the boundary and go parent (67) child (37) in the space."
