LA CENTER — Two quick touchdowns were the one-two punch that powered La Center to a 56-20 victory over King’s Way Christian on Friday.
The Wildcats scored twice in the final two minutes of the first half to take a 28-14 lead in a game that was close up to that point.
It also set the stage for a dominant second half.
“In the locker room, everybody just switched something on,” La Center quarterback Nate Rembisz said. “After that it was a whole new game.”
Rembisz rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown. He also threw for three touchdowns despite attempting just six passes.
After a 20-19 season-opening loss to Class 1A semifinalist Montesano, the La Center stretched its win streak to three by taking Friday’s Trico League opener.
