Dinosaurs, fortunately for most of us, are extinct, but we share the planet with some of their relatives, and those family members are being celebrated in Washington on Saturday at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Zoo.

An invitation to confront the zoo’s two cassowaries was extended on Friday on the zoo’s social media feed.
