MEDINA, Ohio – The paws will be hitting the pavement Saturday, Oct. 18 at Medina Square when the Medina County SPCA hosts its annual Paws for the Cause 5K Run and 1-mile walk.

“This is one of our larger fundraisers each year and our goal is to raise $10,000,” said SPCA director Sarah Urquhart. “That will go to help cover our general expenses. One of our highest expenses lately has been spays and neuters and vet bills. We have had a lot of litters of kittens that have needed care this year.”

Anyone who wants to participate in the race can register at www.medinacountyspca.com . Cost is $35 through Sept. 30, $40 through Oct. 17 and $45 the day of the race.
