The late Bill Stewart took on different roles while coaching West Virginia's football team.
He was a coach, mentor and father. He spent the first decade of the 21st century in varying positions on the Mountaineers' staff, too.
Stewart served as the quarterbacks, tight ends and special teams coach before taking over as interim coach in 2007, replacing Rich Rodriguez, and getting that gig full-time the next year.
Stewart led the Mountaineers to three straight nine-win seasons and two bowl victories, including the Fiesta Bowl after the 2007 season against Oklahoma.
Stewart will be inducted into the WVU Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday, along with longtime football assistant Bill Kirelawich and former kicker Pat McAfee.
