A body found on Sept. 18 has been identified as a 77-year-old man.

Perseus Lonnie Grice of Darlington was found dead in his Eagle Point Drive home, according to Coroner J Todd Hardee. The coroner has officially ruled the death a homicide.

A Myrtle Beach man has been charged with murder in the case.

Jody Hairston was taken is also charged with:

• Two counts of armed robbery

• One count of first-degree burglary

• One count of first-degree arson

• Two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime

• One count of second-degree burglary

• One count of grand larceny

• Possession of burglary tools

The investigation began on Sept. 18 when two people returned to their Baytree Road home in the Florence area of Darlington County.
