City of South Perth councillor Jennifer Nevard wants the council to re-think its decision to remove six trees claimed to be blocking “million dollar views”.
The council voted 4-3 last week in favour of a proposal from former councillor Nic Coveney to remove the juvenile trees at Lake Douglas.
South Perth mayor Greg Milner confirmed Cr Nevard had submitted a revocation motion to repeal the decision made at the July 22 meeting.
“The proposed revocation motion requests the CEO to arrange a workshop for elected members to develop a policy that ensures a consistent approach to decision-making on requests for tree removal from public land,” Mr Milner said.
“This policy would be developed before any decisions are made regarding tree removal from public land.”
