In a significant development in the Delhi BMW accident case, a court has granted bail to Gaganpreet Kaur, the accused driver, who faces serious charges following the death of a senior Finance Ministry official. The Patiala House Court approved her bail on a bond of ₹1 lakh, along with two sureties of the same amount. As part of her release conditions, Kaur must surrender her passport.

Judicial Magistrate Ankit Garg, who presided over the case, expressed concern over the actions of an ambulance driver who failed to assist the victims despite arriving at the scene shortly after the incident. The court noted that the ambulance reached within 30 seconds but did not transport the injured to the nearest hospital, instead leaving to pick up a body from another location. The magistrate questioned the police about the lack of action against the ambulance driver, suggesting that their inaction could amount to culpable homicide.

The accident occurred on September 14 in the Dhaula Kuan area when Kaur allegedly crashed her BMW into a motorcycle, resulting in critical injuries to Navjot Singh, a deputy secretary in the Ministry of Finance, who later died, and serious injuries to his wife. The prosecution raised concerns about the handling of the victims, stating they were taken to Nulife Hospital in GTB Nagar, North Delhi, which is reportedly owned by a relative of Kaur. This raised suspicions of potential tampering with medical evidence.

CCTV footage from the incident has been submitted and is expected to be crucial in determining the sequence of events leading to the crash. The case has garnered significant public attention due to the high-profile nature of the victim and the implications of the ambulance's actions.
